Dear Friends,

Bensonhurst Business Club is 6 years already and we developed a lot of new activities.
Today we are proud to announce, that it was successful period of time for the Russian American Business Community. It became much bigger and stronger than ever before, and our club provided it's leadership in business networking.

Business people come to the club in effort to improve their businesses, raise their concerns, receive advices and create the long-lasting friendship between the club members. All meetings are followed up with a convivial social evening and further discussions of individual problems on specific areas of business practice.

That was an interesting time and we think it would be nice to take a  look back at the club history when it was actually started, and to honor those people who created the club.

They were the first:
Alec Teytel, Felix Filler, Margarite Zeyger, Edward Atbashyan, Lenny Kharitonov, Dr. Sergey Kalitenko, Mark Davidovich, Dmitry Bykov, Lilya Gelfand, Irina Kupershmidt, Ida Faybyshenko, Alec Lugovoy.
And of cause, the club would never be successful without help and support of the JCH staff Alex Budnitsky, Lyubov Mikityansky and Vladimir Vishnevskiy.

In 2003 BBC choose it's first president- Alec Teytel.
Edward Atbashyan and Margarita Zeyger became his first assistants.

Then the following club documents were developed and approved by executive committee on May 6, 2003, and adopted by BBC members at the joint meeting on May 15, 2003.

Gala Party

October 20, 2002 Marks JCH family gather to celebrate 75th Anniversary.
That night community saluted the honorees for their work.

April 2005 Bensonhurst Business Club get together again for another Anniversary Gala, now for honoring its Executive Committee and community leaders.

Being successful in the business networking, Bensonhurst Business Club also created several unique programs. One of them is the program named "Teen Internship in BBC Businesses". Teens were involved in real businesses and received scholarship for their work. They said it was unforgettable experience.
It's already 30 teens participated in the program. And now teens have even bigger opportunity, to be in the program 2 times per year, during the winter and summer. Businesses involved in the program were gratefully awarded.

Another big program of BBC and Hebrew Free Loan Society (HFLS) is "Microenterprise Loan Program".
It provides the following opportunities:
* Free professional consultation on your start-up business concept or plans for taking a small business to the "next" level.
* Access to free or very low cost business training and free assistance with business plan preparation
* Free legal help to incorporate a new business, structure a lease, purchase a business, etc
* Access to interest-free credit up to $25,000 to help start or expand your business
* Free post-loan mentorship
* Networking / mutual support / professional programs at the JCH  Bensonhurst Business Club

There were 50 candidates for 3 types of businesses: "New Business", "Purchasing Business", "Expending Business".
15 participants already received their free loans.
The most successful loan recipient was Oleg Yavorovsky from "Mish Mash Gourmet".

BBC International contacts.
This is about connections between Jerusalem community house - Beit Kehilot and Marks JCH of Bensonhurst in New York.
Based on the program named "Partnership 2000", Bensonhurst Business Club supported and gave guidelines to create Business club in Israel, with the mission for cooperation between businesses of both our countries.
In March 2006 BBC and Marks JCH delegation visited Beit Kehilot community and its Business club.
We were very proud to see the successful start of BC in Jerusalem.

Creation of Media Group at BBC

Over these 4 years Bensonhurst Business Club made it's image as successful organization. It became well known and continue attracting new businesses. This success could not be possible without great support of BBC friends - Media Group (TV, Radio, Newspapers, Internet Partners). This group of people, Media Professionals, became a valuable part of our club, and we would like to express our appreciation to those people .
